Choosing a Therapist ·
It is important to consider the following points when deciding on not just the therapy you are interested in but also the person doing the treatment.
- What benefits will this treatment offer you?
- Be wary of cures or bold claims.
- Enquire as to their experience of treating people with HIV.
- Costs/fees can vary – some practitioners may have a sliding scale of fees.
- Question the therapist’s qualifications. Find out if they have professional memberships and if this requires Continual Professional Development [CPD] so that their training and knowledge is built upon or refreshed. Check they have insurance.
- Ask if they have testimonials from old/existing clients whom you can get in touch with.
