Everyone is different, but a likely initial reaction may very well be that you are going to die, that this is the end.
Others who have been in this situation describe their feelings at the time of diagnosis as terrified, numb, desperate, devastated, angry, aggrieved, cheated, relieved.
It is important to remember, and worth holding on to the fact, that you are not likely to die of a positive diagnosis any time soon or indeed at all and that you can still have a good quality of life.
