It can be difficult to get insurance cover if you are HIV positive but there are some companies who specialise in cover for people with HIV.
If you do take out insurance and do not tell the insurance company that you are positive, then they will not not pay out any claim you make.
Insurance policies which may have been taken out prior to infection should still be valid unless there is a specific disclaimer against HIV infection
Getting a mortgage for positive people has not always been easy, primarily because most mortgages demand some form of life assurance as well, which most people with HIV would be denied. Now, however, some companies offer mortgages without the need to have life assurance as well. For more information, speak to your local HIV support agency.
