Disclosures at the Police Station ·

Should you inform the police that you are positive if you are arrested?

This is not generally recommended, as there is some evidence to suggest that that positive people are treated with less consideration than a negative person.

However, if you need access to medication, you may have to inform the police.

If you feel the need to disclose your status, then it is recommended that you request seeing the Divisional Surgeon (police doctor) and disclose to them, whilst also demanding that they keep this information confidential.
