Most travel insurance policies generally exclude cover for pre-existing medical conditions such as HIV but it is possible to get cover from some specialist insurance companies that provide cover for people with HIV.
Even the companies below have restrictions. They may not give insurance to people with a low CD4 count, to people who aren’t on medications unless their CD4 count is high, to people who’ve changes medications recently, or to people who’ve been hospitalised for an AIDS-related condition (or similar) in the past year or two. If it’s genuinely risky to your health to travel, the insurance company will think so too.
